Animal Head Trophy Inspiration

I have grown to appreciate animals of all kinds as a valuable design resource. They can add much to a design: like texture, color, organic shapes, warmth and pride. I would LOVE to have my very own animal head for my wall at home but I am not a hunter and neither is my husband. But I AM crafty!

I saw these faux animal heads at Anthropologie during a recent shopping excursion. Yes, those are decoupaged animals covered in newspaper print and black paint. And I just looked online and they have a giraffe and rhino! My lucky day. Now, I do not see myself planning an exotic hunting trip in the near future so I will have to settle for handcrafted.

These are so cool!

Now I wish that I had made one (or 2 or 3) of these for my senior art expedition!
